As soon as you get in Sweden, STOP AT A GAS STATION AND BUY A MAP!!! You will need one. Sweden has many wonderful qualities--good signage is not one of them.
There's a site with maps and directions within Sweden, but it's only in Swedish and the directions are sometimes confusing even if you do speak the language.. If you'd like to give it a try, here's the link: www.hitta.se . Click on "vägbeskrivning" and write your address in "Varifrån åker du?" and "Näs Idrottsplats" in "Vart ska du?". (Make the Swedish "ä" by holding down the alt key while typing 132). A few important Swedish translations are listed below the directions here.

From Stockholm (about 2 hour drive):
1. Follow E18 toward Enköping.
2. After about 60-70 km, you will reach Enköping. Follow signs to road 70 toward Sala.
3. After about 40 km, you will reach Sala. Follow signs to Saladamm. You will cross a railroad track and continue on an unnamed country road towards Saladamm.
4. Drive through the small village
of Saladamm, keep driving on country road.
5. About 35 km from town of Sala (30 km from Saladamm), you will come to a
big steel bridge over water (a factory on the left). Continue over bridge
and keep driving about 1 km.
6. The meet is about 1 km from the bridge on the left hand side. There will
be signs.
The campgrounds are on the right side just before the event.
From Arlanda airport (about 1½-2hour drive):
1. E4 N Norr (North) to Uppsala.
2. In Uppsala, follow signs for the 72 V Väst (West) toward Sala.
3. In Sala follows signs towars Saladamm.You will cross a railroad track and continue on an unnamed country road towards Saladamm.
4. Drive through the small village
of Saladamm, keep driving on country road.
5. About 35 km from town of
Sala (25 km from Saladamm), you will come to a big steel bridge over water
(a factory on the left). Continue over bridge and keep driving about 1 km.
6. The meet is about 1 km from the bridge on the left hand side. There will
be signs.
The campgrounds are on the right hand side just before the event.
From Västerås airport (app. 45 min drive):
1. Follow signs to E18 Oslo.
2. Drive on E18 about 4-5 km into Västerås. Follow signs for 67 North (Norr) to Sala (might say Gävle)
3. In Sala, follow signs to
Saladamm. You will cross a railroad track and continue onto an unnamed country
road.
4. Drive through the small village of Saladamm, keep driving on country road.
5. About 35 km from town of Sala (25 km from Saladamm), you will come to a
big steel bridge over water (a factory on the left). Continue over bridge
and keep driving about 1 km.
6. The meet is about 1 km from the bridge on the left hand side. There will
be signs.
The campgrounds are on the right hand side just before the event.
From Skavsta airport (about 3½ hour drive):
1. From the airport, look for
signs for the 53 North (Norr) toward Eskilstuna
2. In Eskilstuna, take the E20 West (Väst) toward Örebro (Might
say to Oslo, Karlstad or Kristinehamn)
3. Drive about 10 km, then follow
sign for 53 North (Norr) to Västerås
4. When 53 ends (20-30 km), take E18 toward Västerås (Might say
to Stockholm)
5. Drive about 50 km.
6. In Västerås, follow signs for 67 North (Norr) to Sala (might
say Gävle)
7. In Sala, follow signs to Saladamm. You will cross a railroad track and
continue onto an unnamed country road.
8. Drive through the small village of Saladamm, keep driving on country road.
8. About 35 km from town of Sala (30 km from Saladamm), you will come to a
big steel bridge over water (a factory on the left). Continue over bridge
and keep driving about 1 km.
9. The meet is about 1 km from the bridge on the left hand side. The campgrounds
are to your right just before the meet.
Coming via Avesta:
1. In Avesta, follow signs for 68 N towards Gävle. From highway 70, this will be one exit offramp south of the big red horse/Avesta Centrum.
2. Turn right at end of offramp onto the 68.
3. Drive about 3-4 km, then turn right toward By and Folkärna.
4. Drive about 15 km into By. The road will end in a T-crossing with a Statoil gas station on your right.
5. Turn right at the crossing.
The meet is about 2 km up on your right hand side. The campground is to your
left just after the meet.
